FTU reacted to the decision of the Ministry of Sports on the ban on participation in tournaments with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

Ukrainian Tennis Federation In response to the decision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the prohibition of official delegations of the Ukrainian national teams from participating in international competitions in which Russian and Belarusian athletes take part, he published an official statement on his website.

“The Ukrainian Tennis Federation respects the position of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the implementation of measures aimed at removing athletes, coaches, other representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus from participation in international sports competitions, and on strengthening measures to prevent propaganda. military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine among the sports community.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Youth and Sports dated April 12, 2023 and numbered 2031, the Tennis Federation of Ukraine will not send official delegations to competitions involving representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

The Ukrainian Tennis Federation plans to send official delegations only to Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup, Winter and Summer European Team Cups, European Individual Championship matches. The participation of representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus in these competitions is no longer planned. In the statement made by the Ukrainian Tennis Federation, it was stated that if the situation changes and the representatives of the aggressor countries are allowed to participate in the competitions, the trips of the official delegations of the Ukrainian Tennis Federation to these competitions will be cancelled.
