Mouzeti – Tsitsipas 1-2: Stefanos has impressively made it into the final of the Barcelona Open

Stefanos Tsitsipas won 2-1 sets (6-4, 5-7, 6-3) after a great fight with Lorenzo Muzzetti to qualify for the Barcelona Open final for the third time in his career.

Stefanos Tsitsipas (No.5) qualified for the Barcelona Open final for the third time in his career (after 2018 and 2021) after beating Lorenzo Musetti (No.20) 2-1.

His opponent in the final on Sunday (April 23, 5:00 p.m.) will be announced later and determined by the winner of the pair between Alkarath and Evans.


The match: The match showed from the beginning that there will be many twists and turns and great emotions. Muzzetti was the one who got the first break in game three, to which Tsitsipas responded immediately with a break.

The two held for the next two games to start a new breakdance. The Italian was again the first to break and Tsitsipas immediately responded again.

At 4-4, Steph served and held before hitting his third break to finish the set 6-4.


The second set started with a break from Musetti, with the Italian easily holding until game six. Then Stefanos Tsitsipas broke back to equal the set.

In the eighth game, Steph had a double break chance, but Muzzetti found a way to hold. The Italian went into the next game strong, leading 0-30, but Tsitsipas with four consecutive points made it 5-4.

In the next game, Stefanos Tsitsipas got the break point again, but Mouzeti managed to clear it and break immediately after. The Italian didn’t lose after his chance and finished the set 7-5.


The third set started perfectly for Stefanos Tsitsipas, who took a 3-0 lead with a quick break and two service holds. After winning the set, Musetti seemed to have run out of ideas, whereupon Tsitsipas scored a new break to make it 4-0.


The Italian reacted immediately with a break and held his serve to make it 4:2. From there, Tsitsipas held serve loosely to finish the game 6-3.
