Tsitsipas: Alkarath his opponent in the Barcelona Open final
Carlos Alcarath beat Evans 2-0 sets and will be Stefanos Tsitsipas’ opponent in the final of the Barcelona Open on Sunday afternoon (April 23, 5:00 p.m.).
Carlos Alcarath fully justified his title as favorite against Evans, winning 2-0 sets and will have a chance to defend his title at last year’s Barcelona Open.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who had previously won a 2-1 set against Lorenzo Muzzetti, meets him in the final on Sunday (April 23, 5:00 p.m.).
The match: As for the game, the world No. 2 started from the service line first in the 1st set and kept a slight lead until the 3rd game (2-1), while right in the next he managed the first break and even the distance increased more (3-1).
He then defended his serve to the thread to increase the gap to Evans (4:1), the Briton reduced in the 6th game in the meantime, but had no new offensive solution and thus Alkarath completed the first round of the game ideally, doubling his breaks in between ( 6:2).
In the second set, the 19-year-old Spaniard once again had the momentum on his side, went on a decisive series with 4/4 games won, achieved 4 breaks (total) and “secured” qualification for the final at this point (4- 0).
The No. 26 on the ATP rankings erased one of the two breaks, further closing the gap with a good hold at love (4-2), but the continuation belonged to the ‘home team’ as he won the 7th game with an impeccable defense on his Service while ending the game with another break (6-2).
