(Paris) The Russian Daniil Medvedev has recovered the place of world No.3 at the expense of the Norwegian Casper Rudd in the ATP ranking published on Monday and still dominated by the Serbian Novak Djokovic.
Beaten in the quarterfinals in Banja Luka by his compatriot Dusan Lajovic, “Nole” withdrew from the Masters 1000 in Madrid, just like his great Spanish rival Rafael Nadal, currently 14e global.
American Frances Tiafoe, up one rank, replaces Russian Karen Khachanov in the 11e position. Another American, Tommy Paul, obtained the best ranking of his career at the age of 25, with a gain of one place, to 17e rank.
Titled in Banja Luka on Sunday, Lajovic, now 40eachieves the best progress of the top 100 with a jump of 30 places.
Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, former 8e world, has lost 24 ranks and falls to 72e place.
