Russian tennis player Pavel Kotov said he apologized to his mother for rude words addressed to her after the incident during the semi-finals of the Masters qualifying match in Madrid.

Earlier, Kotov obscenely asked his mother, sitting on the podium, not to interfere with his game in the match with the Belgian Kimmer Koppeyans (6:4, 3:6, 7:6 (8:6).

– Unfortunately, it is not always possible to control oneself, there are such moments. The match was very difficult, difficult. I myself am well aware that I set a bad example with such disgusting behavior. But anything happens, as they say. All good. I wish to control myself and not commit such actions,” said Kotov in a video posted on the Tbn Tennis Team Telegram channel.

If this is so interesting to you, then I apologized to my mother as soon as I left the court, ”the tennis player added.

Kotov will play Japan’s Yosuke Watanuki in the qualifying final on April 25.
