Olympic tennis champion Elena Vesnina said she was shocked by the incident with Vitalia Dyachenko, who was denied boarding on a Polish airline flight, and also advised her to go to the human rights court.
Earlier, Dyachenko said that she was not allowed on the flight of the Polish airline LOT because of her Russian passport. The athlete was going to fly from Cairo to Nice via Warsaw.
“It’s a shock for me. This has never happened. The question is, what was the point of selling a ticket then, if you do not let people in because they have a Russian passport?
It is necessary to signal and apply to the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, because a complaint to the human rights court begs here, ”Vesnina told RT.
Dyachenko is the winner of one WTA tournament in doubles. The tennis player takes the 250th place in the world ranking.
