Korashvili suffered a serious illness. In May 2020, Alexandra was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome with myelofibrosis. He underwent a complex bone marrow transplant in January 2021.

After more than three years of absence from tennis, Alexandra won the first game after a long treatment. He last appeared in court in December 2019.

At the ITF W40 tournament in Tbilisi, Korashvili defeated Georgia’s Anamaria Kurtsikashvili (WTA 1270) in three sets in the qualifying semi-finals.
