Russians Safiullin and Shevchenko reached the second round of the Tennis Masters in Madrid
Russian tennis players Alexander Shevchenko and Roman Safiullin made it to the second round of the Masters series tournament in Madrid.
Shevchenko in the first round in less than an hour and a half in two sets beat the American Jeff Wolf – 6:4, 6:4. Safiullin overcame the Chilean Nicolas Harry in 1 hour 47 minutes – 6:2, 3:6, 6:3.
In the second round, Shevchenko will meet with the representative of the Czech Republic Jiri Legechka (31st seed), Safiullin will play with the American Tommy Paul (14). Both Russians on the way to the main draw of the tournament overcame the qualification.
