Website “humiliated Nadal” and Andy Roddick lashes out
Extreme characterizations of a website about the – injured – Rafa Nadal, with Andy Roddick hitting back and calling the title silly.
At 37, Rafa Nadal took everything. Literally everything. He is considered by many to be the greatest tennis player of all time, certainly one of the top three along with Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, but there are people who do not hesitate to criticize him, even now that he is enduring a daily struggle to overcome serious injury problems weighing on him.
Website Tennis365.com published a text on Monday (1/5) entitled “Rafa Nadal risks a humiliating dip in the rankings after the French Open“, while its editor, Kevin Palmer, states in the text that “Following his elimination from the Madrid Open, Nadal has not yet confirmed if he will return to the APT Tour for the Rome Masters later this month. There are doubts about his participation in Roland Garros. If he loses both, he is out of the TOP-100. He’ll get to the point where he’ll need a wild card to make it to the Grand Slams, and as much as that can be backed up for a player of his caliber, his main event days appear to be over for now.“.
Andy Roddick, a veteran tennis player who made it to number 1, saw this text and his reaction was echoed by most of the sport’s cool fans: “What a stupid title. Rafa will never experience humiliation in his life. The guy does everything right. That’s completely stupid“.
