In Madrid, Lynette started from the second round as the 17th seed. She played her first match with the Czech Marketa Vondrousova, and she had to give a lot of strength to win. Having gained the upper hand in three sets, Magda came out to play with Mirra as a favorite: after all, experience spoke in favor of the polka.

The match between Lynette and Andreeva began an hour and a half later than planned: the rain that covered the capital of Spain prevented. In the first set, everything went in favor of Mirra, despite the desperate resistance of her opponent. Having made two breaks, the Russian woman won the set with a score of 6:3.
The key moment was the start of the second set. Andreeva took the first game on someone else’s serve, without giving her opponent a single point. This broke Magda and inspired Mirra. With the score 2:1, our tennis player again made a break, after which she just had to take her games. As a result – 6:3 in the second set and an hour and a half for the whole match.

Andreeva’s victory is extremely important – and not only from the point of view of a sports triumph. A native of Krasnoyarsk beat a rival from Poland right on her birthday! April 29 Mirra Andreeva turned 16 years old.
At her age, the girl has already achieved impressive results. The final of the junior Australian Open, six victories in adult tournaments of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and a place in the top 200 of the WTA ranking – few people can boast of such success at 16 years old.
Mirra is praised by world tennis legends, and in her native Krasnoyarsk she is watched no less closely than the hockey Sokol or the football Yenisei. Considering that the Siberian city has never had extra-class tennis players, such close attention is quite understandable.
