Thus, the Americans Danielle Collins (11and world), Jessica Pegula (19and), Sloane Stephens (38and), Shelby Rogers (49and) and Desirae Krawczyk (20and world doubles), were chosen by captain Kathy Rinaldi for this match which will be played in Asheville.

Elina Svitolina will be part of the Ukrainian team.

“We are committed to welcoming the Ukrainian team well and providing them with all the support they will need before and during the competition in Asheville,” USTA General Manager Stacey Allaster said in the statement.

“Together, we will use this event to continue our fight for peace and to bring our help and our support to the Ukrainians”, she concludes.

The winner of the United States-Ukraine match will join eleven other teams in the final phase of the Billie Jean King Cup (ex-Fed Cup), including Switzerland, finalists last year and Australia, which benefited from the exclusion of the Defending champion Russia.
