Australian police have charged a man suspected of stealing a car and threatening the mother of tennis player Nick Kirios with a weapon, Reuters reported, citing the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

The 32-year-old Canberra suspect was reportedly in court on Tuesday on five charges, including failing to stop when asked by police and driving without a license.

It is noted that the police on Monday received a message that the man threatened the mother of Kirios with a firearm and allegedly stole a Tesla car. Later, the perpetrator was arrested and the stolen car was found.
