Kafelnikov appreciated Karatsev’s chances to reach the Masters semi-finals in Madrid
Former world number one, Olympic champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov believes that Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev has a good chance of reaching the semifinals of the Masters tournament in Madrid.
In the fourth round match, Karatsev beat world No. 3 Daniil Medvedev 7:6 (7:1), 6:4. In the quarterfinals, the Russian will face either American Taylor Fritz or Chinese tennis player Zhang Zhizhen.
– Karatsev may well pass Fritz. The style of an American suits Aslan. It is uncomfortable for him to play mainly with the Spaniards, who unmistakably keep the ball in the court. I think that Aslan has a good chance of reaching the semi-finals of the Masters in Madrid, Kafelnikov told the Championship.
