Nick Kirios was not taken aback when his mom’s electric car was stolen, and simply limited the speed of the car through the application. Brilliant!

The 26th racket of the world, Nick Kyrios, is known to many tennis fans as a scandalous guy who can break a racket on emotions, throw a chair on the court, get into a skirmish with a fan and tell the referee that he has a “stupid hat”.

However, when the need arises, the 28-year-old athlete can quickly transform into a superhero and resolve a difficult and dangerous situation.

The Australian helped the police in the capture of an armed criminal.

Improved reputation

On the morning of May 1 in Canberra, the mother of Australian tennis player Nick Kirios was attacked. The 32-year-old man threatened the woman with a long-barreled weapon and demanded the keys to the Tesla, which, by the way, belongs to the athlete himself. It’s funny, but the attacker did not know how to drive an electric car. He forced the victim to show how to use the car, and then drove off in an unknown direction.

True, he did not have to enjoy the trip for a long time: the woman turned to her son for help, and at the same time connected the police. It is a duty for law enforcement officers to help robbed ladies. But Kirios theoretically was not obliged to do this, but also took part in the capture of the attacker.

Of course, the tennis player did not participate in any chases with shootings and other cinematic tricks. To help law enforcement agencies, the owner of a fashionable car simply needed not to get confused and open a special application on his phone. The technique helped Kyrios not only determine exactly where the attacker was riding, but even limit the speed of the stolen vehicle.

The robber, finding himself in a situation where the police know his whereabouts, and the Tesla is barely dragging along, got nervous and eventually got caught. The chase ended on the school grounds, the hijacker tried to resist, but this only aggravated his situation. As a result, the unlucky criminal received injuries that are compatible with life, but they definitely won’t add to his mood. As well as the five charges against him.

According to ABC, the court refused to release the driver on bail. So after the prompt solution of health problems, he is likely to be punished. And Kirios, in turn, emerged from a difficult situation as a hero. He returned the car, restored justice and taught the mother’s offender a lesson.

And at the same time he showed all owners of electric cars how to act in extreme situations. Probably, now the tennis player can reasonably count on improving his reputation.
