Alexei Selivanenko, Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation, member of the ITF Board of Directors, believes that the match between Russian tennis players Andrei Rublev and Karen Khachanov at the tournament in Madrid was equal, the result was decided by several goals.

The meeting ended with Khachanov’s victory with a score of 7:6 (10:8), 6:4. The next opponent of the Russian will be the Spaniard Carlos Alcaras.

— Khachanov showed an excellent disciplined game. He realized the only break, which became decisive in the match. Karen played better in several important tiebreak plays.

I would not say that Rublev played badly. But it cannot be argued that it was one of his best matches. There was an equal fight on the court, the outcome of which was decided not by many balls. If you choose one opinion out of two, then it’s more likely that Khachanov won this match than Rublev lost,” Selivanenko told Vprognoze.ru.

The match between Khachanov and Alcaraz is scheduled for May 3. The start is approximately at 17:00 Moscow time.
