Ukrainian men’s tennis leader Alexei Krutykh (ATP 183) has been included in the roster for the ATP 1000 series soil tournament qualifiers, which will start next week in Rome (Italy).
Krutykh was replaced by Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, who decided to skip the Italian Masters. For 23-year-old Aleksey, this will be the first performance in a thousand.
Interestingly, for the first time since March 2022 Ukraine will be represented in the Masters qualifiers. Then Ilya Marchenko lost in the second round for the tournament at Indian Wells.
The last Ukrainian to play at the base of the ATP 1000 competition was Oleksandr Dolgopolov. He lost to Novak Djokovic at the start of the Masters in Rome in 2018. It was the last game of his career.
