Grammatikopoulou won the title in Cagliari

Valentini Grammatikopoulou defeated Katinka von Deichmann in the final of the 25th ITF tournament in Cagliari with 2:0 sets (6:4, 6:1).

THE Valentini Grammatikopoulou capped her run at the $25,000 ITF Cagliari Regional by defeating former world No. 153 Katinka von Deichmann of Liechtenstein with a comfortable win in Sunday’s final (7/5). 6-4, 6-1 in 82 minutes.

For Grammatikopoulou, this was her 14th career title in 26 finals, her 4th in 25 ITF tournaments, but also her first since the biggest of her career at the WTA 125 in Vancouver in August 2022.

The Greek tennis player went into the final quite strongly, turning the 2-2 into a 5-2. Von Deichmann responded by retrieving one of Grammatikopoulou’s two breaks to reduce it to 5-3 and then a hold to 5-4, with the Greek tennis player ending the 1st set on her 2nd try.
