Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa called the politicization of sports a shame, noting that she prefers to mind her own business rather than politics.
– Of course, sports and politics should not be mixed. Unfortunately, they crossed paths, but I will never understand it. After all, sports and politics have nothing to do with each other. It’s a shame they get so mixed up between players.
We are not involved in this either. We do not know what is going on, there are many opinions, we do not know all the information 100% and we will never know. I prefer to stay away and mind my own business. Politicians should do politics and athletes should do sports,” Badosa said in an interview with Glamor magazine.
At the end of March, AELTC, which is the organizer of Wimbledon, announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the competition in a neutral status and subject to “certain conditions”.
