Russian Anna Kalinskaya made it to the third round of the WTA tournament in Rome, beating the representative of Belgium Eliza Mertens.
Kalinskaya defeated the Belgian in three sets – 6:4, 4:6, 6:3. In another meeting, Ekaterina Alexandrova lost in two sets to the Italian Camila Giorgi – 4:6, 2:6.
Kalinskaya will play with the winner of the pair Yasmine Paolini (Italy) – Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, 7), Giorgi will meet with Karolina Muchova from the Czech Republic.
