20-year-old Spanish tennis player carlos alcaraz (ATP 2) unexpectedly finished playing in the clay tournament of the ATP 1000 series in Rome (Italy).
In the 1/16 final of the match in the capital of Italy, the Spaniard was defeated in consecutive sets. Fabian Marozhan (Hungary, ATP 135) 1 hour 42 minutes.
ATP 1000 Rome. Preparation. 1/16 final
Fabian Marozhan (Hungary) [Q] – Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) [2] – 6:3, 7:6 (7:4)
Interesting that Carlos lost 3:4 with a time-out in the second set, but for the first time in the match, interrupting the opponent’s serve evened the score and it looked like the Spaniard needed to reverse the game. He led the tie-break 4-1 in the second set, but lost 6 points in a row.
This is the first time Fabian is playing in the main draw of an ATP tournament, and it is the first time he has faced the top 10 tennis players.
In the next round of the match in the Italian capital, Marozhan will face Borna Coric.
