Holger Rune: “I’m proud of myself”
Danish tennis player Holger Rune shared his feelings after defeating world leader Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the Masters in Rome.
“It’s a really big win for me. I did that in Paris last year but every game against Novak is a big challenge for me. He’s one of the greatest players. I knew I had to be on top, I talked about it yesterday and I was on top today. With myself I am proud and enjoying every moment.
Of course I remain modest. I still have a lot to achieve. I think you should always be humble. That’s who I am, I hope I am, and I hope people see me that way. I’m a big fighter on the court and I give up all my strength when I play my matches. Novak inspires me a lot and I wish him the best,” Rune said.
In the semi-finals of the tournament in Rome, 20-year-old Rune expects to face the winner of the match Kasper Ruud (Norway) – Francisco Cherundolo (Argentina).
