Stefanos Tsitsipas will compete in the quarter-final Masters tournament for the 20th time on Thursday evening (May 18) and has 13 qualifiers.

Stefanos Tsitsipas entered the main draw of a Masters tournament for the 43rd time in his career and will appear in the quarter-finals for the 20th time from Thursday evening (May 18).

His opponent will be 26-year-old Croatian Borna Coric. The two have met five times so far, with the Greek champions winning two of them.

Without a doubt, it is a number that confirms why Tsitsipas is always in the top ten in the world rankings.

The first time Stefanos Tsitsipas reached at least the quarterfinals was in Canada in 2018. Then his course was stopped in the final by Rafael Nadal.

To repeat a similar path, almost a year had to pass to reach the 2019 final in Madrid. Since then, however, there have been another 30 Masters, in which he reached at least an “8” in 19 of them.

Its impressive local presence

If we focus more on the clay court that has been proven to suit him best, Stefanos Tsitsipas has competed in 16 Masters since the start of his career.

In ten of them he managed to reach at least the quarterfinals. Even more impressive is that he has had an impressive winning streak since the 2021 Rome Masters.

Since then he has managed to reach at least the quarterfinals, win a trophy and make it to the final again in the seven Masters that have been played on clay. Last but not least, its consistency in the soil is excellent.
