Vavrinka: The Swiss are returning to court
Stanislas Vavrinka returns to the courts after a year’s absence and will play at the Barbeja tournament.
Two weeks earlier than expected, Stanislas Vavrinka will make his long-awaited return to the tour.
The 36-year-old Swiss had announced he would be competing in his first tournament at the Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco starting April 10, but decided to race earlier and hone his body at the $135,000 ATP Challenger Open at Andalucia Open to test in Marbella Spain.
The former world No. 3 has not competed in the Tour (Qatar Open 2021) for a year and has accepted the organizers’ wild card to compete in the mighty Challenger tournament in southern Spain from March 28th to April 4th.
Stan the Man had a serious injury problem that he had to treat with surgery.
After Marbella, Vavrinka will compete at the Monte Carlo Masters, also with a wild card, where he will face the top names in the ATP as Monaco will host the world top 10.

Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.
Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.
Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.
Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.
Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.

Russian Karen Khachanov moved from 18th to 17th place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), a new version of which was published on the organization’s website.
The best among Russians remains Daniil Medvedev, located in 13th place, Andrei Rublev is 16th. There have been no changes in the top ten rankings: Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is in the lead, Italian Jannik Sinner is second, and German representative Alexander Zverev is in third.
