PHOTOGRAPH. Awards: Kalinina received an award for an incredible week in Rome
On the night of May 21, the final duel between the Ukrainian tennis player took place at the clay tournament of the WTA 1000 series, held in Rome (Italy). Angelina Kalinina (WTA 47) and Kazakhstan representative Elena Rybakina (WTA 6).
Unfortunately, the Ukrainian could not continue the fight after losing the first set. Angelina received a medical time-out and withdrew from the game. The cause is an injury to the left leg.
Kalinina defeated Anna Blinkova, Sofia Kenin, Madison Keys, Beatrice Haddad Maya and Veronika Kudermetova on her way to the final.
Angelina Kalinina, 26, made her WTA 1000 final for the first time and competed for the WTA level title for the second time in her career. In 2021, the Ukrainian lost in the decisive match at the WTA 250 competition in Budapest.
