Big Svitolina could not remember the taste of victory. Now in Lyon

French tennis player Gael Monfils (No. 386 ATP) came very close to defeating Pedro Cachin (No. 63 ATP) in the first round of the tournament held in Lyon (France), but was unable to finish.

Monfils, who we remember being the wife of Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, won the first set of the first round match with a score of 6:2. But he could not develop the advantage, allowing the opponent to return to the game first (6:3), and then won the decisive game – 6:4.

In 2023, Gael Monfils has yet to win a single game on the field. On his account, there is a win against compatriot Evan Furness (No. 279 ATP) in the first round of Challenger in Ostrava, but Gael took it in the second set after an opponent’s refusal.

Meanwhile, Gael Monfils managed to enter the tournament in Lyon with a wild card.
