Will he play for the USO? Svitolina did not make it to Wimbledon in a protected rating
Wimbledon’s official website has published the list of tennis players included in the official application for the 2023 tournament.
At the top of the list was the world’s first racket Iga Sventek, the last in the rating was number 102 Lucia Bronzetti.
From the Ukrainians Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Lesya Tsurenko and Kateryna Beindl will play at the bottom of the rating. Elina Svitolina did not use the protected rating and will most likely use it to avoid entering the main US Open 2023 (using the protected rating, you can only apply for 2 majors out of 4 in the year, Elina has already used Roland Garros 1 time in 2023).
According to the protected rating, the following tennis players plan to play:
- Margarita Betova
The alternative list of Ukrainians includes Dayana Yastremska, Daria Snigur and Katarina Zavatskaya.
