Valentini Grammatikopoulou ended her participation in the Roland Garros qualifiers after losing 2-0 sets to Nao Chibino.
Grammatikopoulou’s run ended in the 2nd round of Roland Garros after her loss to Japanese and world No. 112 Nao Himbino 6-1, 6-1 in just 52 minutes.
The Greek tennis player scored 16 points on her serve (16/44), caught just one serve, scored 11 winners and committed 23 unforced errors, while Hibino finished the game with 21 winners and 11 unforced errors.
The Japanese’s presence at the net was also decisive, where she won 10 of the 11 points earned while at the same time taking 6 of the 8 break chances.
Grammatikipoulou struggled to hold her first serve followed by a straight six wins that the former world No. 59 won, finishing the opener in 29 minutes.
In the second leg of the game, Grammatikopoulou grabbed a break (1-0), but here too Hibino responded as in the first set with 6 straight games, comfortably qualifying and one step away from the main scoreboard.
