Mikael Imer has been thrown out of the Lyon Open for smashing the referee’s chair with the racket
Mikael Imer couldn’t keep his nerves under control during the game against Arthur Phil which resulted in him being kicked out of the Lyon Open.
Mikael Imer went (far) beyond tolerance during the match against Arthur Phil at the Lyon Open. As soon as he lost the eleventh game of the first set (against Arthur Phil 6-5), he stormed the umpire’s chair, breaking it and causing his dismissal.
As part of the summary procedure, the organizers intervened and announced that Mikael Immer was suspended for the remainder of the Lyon Open, which is probably logical given the brutality of the 24-year-old’s racquet hits on the referee’s chair.
