SVITOLINA: “2. What happened at 4:1 on set? I have so many things on my mind…”
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina Commenting on the victory over the country representative 404 Varvara Gracheva in the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 soil tournament held in Strasbourg (France):
“What do I think about winning in two sets? Yes, great match. I think we both played well, served well, so I’m very happy that I played consistently throughout the game. I’m happy to win and go further, thank you all for your support and good atmosphere.
What happened when the score was 4-1 in the second set? You know, there was so much going on in my head that I was just trying to fight, to regain control of the field. In the end, I returned to a good level of play, I was able to serve with a score of 4:4, this game was very important. Yes, I am very satisfied with my level.
I had a great game today, but it’s not the pinnacle of my skills. I would like to use this as a base, this is not the end of the tournament, I hope I have to win a few matches here as well. I always try to show my best. This time it worked out in my favor, but I have to expect some days to be harder than others.”
In the semi-finals of the competition, Elina will play with Clara Burel.
