Preparation for WG on French courts. Finalists of the tournament in Lyon announced
Two semi-finals were played at the ATP 250 series tournament held in Lyon (France) on Friday, 26 May.
18-year-old French tennis player Arthur Fis defeated Brandon Nakashima in three sets. Fiss, born in 2004, became the first player to play in an ATP tournament final.
The young Frenchman defeated Zhang Zhizhen on the road, passed Mikael Ymer, who was disqualified for unsportsmanlike behaviour, passed Felix Auger-Aliassime by refusal before the match, and defeated Nakashima.
The finalist from the lower part of the tournament group was Francisco Cherundolo, who was placed below 4th place. In the semi-finals, he defeated 2nd seeded Cameron Norrie in two sets and pinned him in the second set. For the 24-year-old Argentine, this will be the 3rd final at ATP level. He lost the match for the cup at the Buenos Aires competition in 2021 and took the title in Båstad in 2022.
In addition to defeating Norrie, Francisco also defeated Juan Pablo Varillas and Jack Draper.
