Everything you need to know about Roland Garros: The facts about Tsitsipas – Sakkari and the huge prize money
The Roland Garros main tournament is just around the corner and Sportish brings you everything you need to know about the historic tournament.
The time for the second Grand Slam of the year has come. From May 27th to June 11th all tennis fans will be looking to Paris where Roland Garros takes place.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari go into the historic tournament aiming to go as far as possible and the draw they had allows them to reach the quarterfinals in relative comfort.
At the same time, Nadal’s absence whets the appetite for the title among the rest of tennis players, although the presence of Novak Djokovic doesn’t leave much room for optimism.
For women, Arina Sabalenka wants to confirm the excellent year and dethrone it together with Rybakina Iga Svyotek.
All games will be broadcast in the Sportish match center, the tournament will be televised by Eurosport.
The data for Sakkari
Maria Sakkari meets Czech Karolina Muhova in the 1st round of Roland Garros, who eliminated the Greek tennis player in the 2nd round of the tournament last year.
Should the Greek tennis player manage to clear the Czech Republic obstacle, she will face either 2022 semifinalist Nadia Pontoroska or France’s Jessica Poncet in the next round.
In Round 3 Gilles Teichmann and Irina-Camila Begou (whom Sakkari won in Madrid this year) are possible candidates in case Sakkari is there while in Round 4 and always from the moment the predictions are confirmed are, Sakkari will play somewhat with Belinda Bencic.
In the quarterfinals she will logically face USA’s No. 3 on the board Jessica Pegula, while in the possible scenario that she does what she did in 2021 by progressing to the semifinals, then logic says (always based on seeding) that she will face one of Caroline Garcsia, Daria Kasatkina, Karolina Pliskova, with the big favorite being Arina Sabalenka, of course.

The facts about Tsitsipas
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Carlos Alcarath are in the same quarter according to Thursday’s draw (25/5), which means that the two players will most likely meet in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Greek tennis player will start his duties against Czech Jiri Veseli, while the world No. 1 will meet a player from the qualifiers.
Then, and if Tsitsipas wins in the first round, he will face either Spaniard Roberto Carvajes Baena or a player emerging from the qualifiers in the second.
Possible candidates for the 3rd round are either the Spaniard Bernave Tapata Mirages or the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, while in the “16” the names Félix Auxerre Aliasim and the American Sebastian Korda appear.
In the quarterfinals, if the predictions are confirmed, Tsitsipas will theoretically meet Carlos Alcarath, while in the semifinals he logically faces Novak Djokovic, which means a repeat of the 2021 final.
There are multiple contenders in the finals, with Daniil Medvedev (strange as it may sound) being one of the favorites to make it to the finals, while favorites include both Yannick Sinner and Holger Rune.
