Three-time Grand Slam winner in doubles Elena Vesnina praised the game of Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva.

The 16-year-old Russian woman made it through the qualification to the main draw of Roland Garros. Ranked 143rd in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking, the Russian has become the youngest tennis player since 1995, after the Frenchwoman Amélie Mauresmo, who managed to break into the main draw of Roland Garros.

– I really like the way our new star, Mirra Andreeva, plays. Amazing girl! I watched her last qualifying round against Camila Osorio, and the impression is that she is playing not a 16-year-old, but an experienced 23-year-old tennis player. Yes, of course, there are still children’s decisions, emotions. But still, she deserves respect for her game at such a young age,” Vesnina told Sport24.

In the first round of Roland Garros, Andreeva will play with American Alison Risk on May 29.
