Elina SVITOLINA: “I feel very confident after winning in Strasbourg”

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina (WTA 192) commented on the victory over Martina Trevisan (Italy, WTA 24) in the 1/64 final of the French Open 2023:

“First of all, I want to thank everyone who came to support me today. It’s always a special moment when you celebrate your first lap victory here at Roland Garros. I have great memories of my performances in front of great fans in connection with this tournament. I’m really happy with the game I played today. I’m looking forward to the next match.

Trevisan was in the semi-finals last year, but I managed to control the game from start to finish. It was a really great match. I played very well Martina is a tough opponent, I knew I had to show my best. And so it happened. After winning in Strasbourg last week, I am very confident, but I needed to pack up quickly and be ready for today’s challenge.
