Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva admitted that stubbornness on the court is an acquired quality that came to her with experience.

The 16-year-old Russian woman made it through the qualification to the main draw of Roland Garros. Ranked 143rd in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking, the Russian has become the youngest tennis player since 1995, after the Frenchwoman Amélie Mauresmo, who managed to break into the main draw of Roland Garros.

– I don’t seem to be particularly obstinate in life. This quality is probably more acquired through many matches, especially since childhood. Yes, and when there are sharp moments in matches, I wake up some kind of excitement. I start trying at all costs to win this ball and generally forget about all sorts of plans for the game. Such matches are both stress and pleasure at the same time, – Andreeva said to the Championship.

In the first round of “Roland Garros” Andreeva will play with the American Alison Risk.

Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya has reached the third round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

In the second round match, Kalinskaya defeated Austrian Julia Grabher with a score of 6:3, 6:3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 13 minutes.

(Melbourne) Defending champion Madison Keys beat Ashlyn Krueger 6-1, 7-5 in the second round of the Australian Open on Thursday.

Ninth seeded, Keys won the American duel in an hour and a quarter ahead of Krueger, 62^e in the world.
