There is a mutual respect and appreciation between Nikola Jokic and Novak Djokovic who exchanged compliments just before they started exchanging text messages.

Compliments were exchanged between two of Serbia’s most famous sportsmen, namely Nikola Jokic and Novak Djokovic, although they admitted they have no personal ties to each other.

“He is the man who represents Serbia on the big stage. He is an ambassador for Serbia. He is an idol for the children in Serbia and not only for what he does on the pitch but also for what his foundation does. That’s how I want to be.” him. He’s doing something great for the kids, for Serbia, for everyone. We cannot compare it.” he’d said with the usual humility possessed by the leader of the Denver Nuggets, admitting he doesn’t have Nole’s personal number.

For his part, Djokovic, who is a huge basketball fan (especially of Red Star in Serbia) and is currently in France to attend Roland Garros, said: “I don’t think anyone else can do what they do in basketball. He is without a doubt the best basketball player in the world. I fully support him. He’s a great guy. He is the pride of Serbia. I am very.” We are proud of him and hope he can win his first ring.

I’m honestly flattered by what he said. I saw his interview a week ago and I’m really grateful. To be honest, we didn’t communicate. I found his number yesterday so I’ll text him. Nowadays it is difficult to find his cell phone number. I want to send him a message to thank him because he really touched me with his words.

I feel the same about him. I think he’s humble, he’s a simple man. He’s in the most popular league in the world and he’s been dominating for three years, it’s incredible. Hearing LeBron, AD, Embiid, Antetokounmpo and all of these players talk about him and praise him makes me proud.”
