Selivanenko responded to Mirra Andreeva’s first career victory at Roland Garros
Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation Alexei Selivanenko shared his opinion on the first victory of Mirra Andreeva (143rd racket of the world) in the main draw of Roland Garros.
The 16-year-old Russian won a landslide victory over US representative Alison Riske – in less than an hour, Andreeva, who made it to the main draw through qualification, beat her opponent with a score of 6:2, 6:1. In the second round, she will play with the Frenchwoman Diane Parry.
— Of course, such a series of results cannot but impress. Mirra caught a successful wave. At the same time, we must remember that this is only the beginning of what, I hope, will become a long and successful career,” Selivanenko told the “Championship”.
