Sinner lost match points to Altmaier in the second round of Roland Garros
German tennis player Daniel Altmaier (ATP No. 79) sensationally beat world number 8 Italian Yannick Sinner to reach the third round of the French Open.

Note that in the fourth set, Sinner did not convert two match points. It was the longest match of the tournament this year.
Prior to that, the 24-year-old Altmayer had lost five times in a row in the first round of Grand Slam tournaments. He advanced to the fourth round at Roland Garros in 2020. Daniel will play against Grigor Dimitrov in the next match.
Sinner became the second highest player eliminated in the first rounds in the lower quarter. Earlier, Daniil Medvedev left the tournament.
