Roland Garros 2023. 1/32 final

Bianca Andreescu (Canada) – Emma Navarro (USA) – 6:1, 6:4

In 2019, Andreescu won the US Open and finished 4th in the WTA rankings. Later, Bianca was considered one of the most promising tennis players, as she entered the Grand Slam tournament at the age of 19. In the 2019 Finals, Andreescu injured his left knee and did not return to the field in 2020. In 2021, the Canadian was diagnosed with coronavirus, and Bianchi’s game was soon followed by a massive decline.

Andreescu has 3 WTA titles, a 125,000th and 5 ITF trophies. Bianchi’s best result at Roland Garros was round 2 (2019, 2022), but has now upgraded to WG’s 3rd round, updating his personal success.

Previously, Lesya and Bianca played twice. Both meetings were for Ukrainians. Interestingly, in 2023, the girls played in the semi-finals of the competition in Hua Hin, Thailand; where Tsurenko won the first set 7:5, leading 4:0 in the second set, and then the Canadian withdrew from the fight.

It is not yet known when the match between Tsurenko and Andreescu will be played.

In the 1/32 final of Roland Garros, Tsurenko beat Lauren Davis on rejection.
