“Whoever shows disrespect deserves an answer.” Djokovic complains about fans at Roland Garros
Former world No. 1 Serbian Novak Djokovic has said he will respond to fans at the French Open who show disrespect to him during tournament matches.
On Friday, Djokovic defeated Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina in the third round of Roland Garros. During the match, fans in the stands expressed dissatisfaction when the Serbian tennis player took a medical time-out at the end of the second set due to pain in his thigh. At the moment of the whistle from the stands, Djokovic sarcastically applauded the audience in response.
— I think that most people come here to enjoy tennis or support this or that player. But there are people who like to boo everything you do. This is something I find disrespectful and frankly I don’t get it. But this is their right. They paid for the ticket. They can do whatever they want.
In fact, 99 percent of the time I will be silent, but sometimes I will oppose it, because I feel that when someone shows disrespect, he or she deserves an answer to it, Yahoo Sports quotes Djokovic.
In the fourth round of the tournament, Djokovic will play against Pole Hubert Hurkach.
