Honored coach of Russia Viktor Yanchuk believes that tennis player Karen Khachanov previously lacked confidence, but now he has it, which is reflected in the results.

On Friday, Khachanov managed to reach the fourth round of Roland Garros. In the third round match, he defeated Australian Tanasi Kokkinakis with a score of 6:4, 6:1, 3:6, 7:6 (7:5). The meeting lasted 3 hours and 42 minutes.

– Karen has been demonstrating a more stable and confident game for the last year. Before, he was able to play individual matches decently and at a high level, but now he does it steadily and with confidence inside. This increased his confidence when facing strong players. Previously, he played in waves, but now he is quite even. His attacking means are enough for any player – he can shoot sharply, he has a good pitch. Karen is a great player, but he lacked psychological confidence. Now she has appeared with victories. He began to show a more stable result, which is reflected in the performance of TBSH and, in particular, at Roland Garros,” Yanchuk said to the “Championship”.

In the next round, Khachanov will face Italian Lorenzo Sonego.
