Tsurenko beat the US Open 2019 champion to reach the 1/8 finals at Roland Garros.

Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko (WTA 66) reached the 1/8 final of the French Open 2023.

The Ukrainian was defeated in the third round at Roland Garros. Bianca Andreescu (Canada, WTA 42) 1 hour 3 minutes.

This was the girls’ third date. Tsurenko won all 3 fights. Note that in 2019 Bianca won the US Open.

For the match, Lesya gave only one step. In the 1st match of the 2nd set, Andreescu took a break, but then Tsurenko took 6 games in a row.

The Ukrainian will play for the fourth time in his career at this stage of the Grand Slam tournament and for the second time in Paris. In 2018, the Ukrainian did not finish the match against Garbigny Muguruza.

In the next round of the French Major, the Ukrainian will play with the world’s first racket, Iga Sventek. Last year Tsurenko lost to the Iga in the 2nd round of the French Major, and lost to one thousandth at Rome this season.
