Pavlyuchenkova made it to the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, beating Mertens in a three-hour match
Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova defeated Belgium’s Elise Mertens in the fourth round of the French Open.
The meeting lasted more than three hours, the Russian beat her opponent in three sets. On account of Pavlyuchenkova, one serve right through and 8 double faults, Mertens made 16 double faults with 3 aces.
Pavlyuchenkova reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, where she will meet with the winner of the pair Elina Avanesyan (Russia) – Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic).
