Tsitsipas on Alkarath: “It’s a fight everyone’s been waiting for, isn’t it?” The time has come’
At the press conference after beating Ofner and qualifying for the quarterfinals, Stefanos Tsitsipas referred to the upcoming fight with Carlos Alcarath and emphasized that he is definitely waiting for it.
Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Sebastian Ofner 3-0 to advance to the quarter-finals of Roland Garros where a big game against Carlos Alcarath awaits him.
In the post-match press conference, Tsitsipas spoke about the game with the Spaniard, saying that it was a fight everyone had been waiting for and that gave him an opportunity to beat him:
“It’s a fight everyone’s been waiting for, isn’t it? It is time. It is one of the biggest hurdles and challenges for every player. It drives us to get better. Fights like this are the hardest thing our sport can have.” The more times you fight him, the more opportunities he has to beat him. And I look for those opportunities.”
When asked about his life off the pitch, he said:
“I have the opportunity to be someone else off the pitch. Of course, as a tennis player, there are some limitations. It’s a box of lines and grids to let your creativity run free.”
