“Look at his grin.” The network criticized Sobolenko
The behavior of Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko after her win against Elina Svitolina in the 1/4 final of Roland Garros (6:4, 6:4) caused an angry reaction on the Internet from people who understand the motives of the Ukrainian woman. He refuses to shake hands with representatives of Russia and Belarus.
We remember that Sobolenko defiantly approached the net from his side of the field at the end of the meeting. With this, he provoked the audience to whistle in anger at Svitolina, who did not even think to shake hands with her opponent.
User with nickname Diano Eco: “Sobolenko did this on purpose, standing at the net. He was sure that he would not buy anything new. Look at her grin after Elina was booed by the crowd.”
LUCAS: “I assume that Sobolenko can command tanks and missiles at the border.”
Tarcisio Pontes: “Sobolenko won the match. He may be on the right side of the court, but on the wrong side of history.”
Levchuk Dima: “Sobolenko and Kasatkina. Totally the opposite”.
M Reinhardt: “What a dubious privilege to be upset about a handshake. You must have at least some sense of proportion. Sobolenko knew Elina wouldn’t shake hands, but she stood by the net, pretending to be a victim.
AndreaG: “Why would you expect a Ukrainian player to shake hands with a Russian/Belarusian player? Sobolenko knew that Svitolina would not do it, but she was waiting for him on the net. Why? Because he wanted to look like a nice person whose handshake was rejected. Kasatkina is the only player from Russia to have succeeded “
