second racket in the world Arina Sobolenko After his match with Elina Svitolina, he answered the question of whether Alexander Lukashenko, who helped the Russian Federation during the war with Ukraine, supported the dictatorial regime.

– As if this is a difficult question, I do not support the war, so at the moment I do not support Alexander Lukashenko

– On the Internet there are many photos in which you are depicted with Alexander Lukashenko. The question is, why are you against it now, when you combined sports and politics in the past?

– We played many Fed Cup matches in Belarus. He was at our matches, he took photos with us after the match. Nothing bad happened in Belarus, Ukraine, or Russia at that time.

And I’ve said it many times, I don’t support the war. I don’t want my country to get involved in any conflict. I’ve said this many times. You have my position, you have my answer. I have answered many times. I do not support war.

And the thing is, I don’t want the sport to get involved in politics because I’m just a tennis player, a 25-year-old tennis player. And if I wanted to be in politics, I wouldn’t be here. I don’t want to get involved in any politics. I just want to be a tennis player,” Sobolenko said.

Note that earlier Arina missed two press conferences and refused to answer such questions.
