Loss to Carlos Alcarath ended Stefanos Tsitsipas’ presence at Roland Garros and cleared his place in the world rankings.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ run at Roland Garros ended in the quarter-finals after Carlos Alcarath was the one who secured a ticket to the semi-finals by winning 6-2 6-1 7-6(5).

Compared to last year, the 24-year-old Greek tennis player advanced one round, earning him 145 points in the world rankings.

In order for his progress to affect his position in the ATP rankings, whichever of Rooney and Rudd qualifies for the “4” of Roland Garros should be eliminated in the semifinals.

If that happens, Stefanos Tsitsipas will move up a place in the world rankings compared to his starting place in the tournament and return to 4th place.

Otherwise, it stays in 5th place, albeit with a slight difference to the rest.
