Stefanos Tsitsipas explained that the schedule of Roland Garros and the evening games bothered him and stressed that in the future he will neither sleep nor take melatonin pills before a game.

Stefanos Tsitsipas was eliminated by the impressive Carlos Alkarath, who defeated the Greek tennis player 3-0 to reach the Roland Garros semifinals for the first time in his career.

After the match, Tsitsipas claimed that the evening hours he competed affected his schedule, but that didn’t help either Melatonin pills he took before the game.

“One thing I will avoid going forward is melatonin pills and sleep before games because it’s clearly not helping.”

It’s been a tough schedule the past few days. I was playing late at night, maybe not too late but enough to mess up my schedule. Sleep is very important and recovery is the most important thing when playing slams.

I made the same mistake in the past and when I played Novak in Bercy a year ago I had exactly the same result in the first two sets. I suspect melatonin likes 1 and 2.

It wasn’t fun at all. I was completely unconscious, sort of asleep. I hope it doesn’t happen again, it’s bad.

I don’t want to take anything away from Carlos, he’s playing really well. He deserved the win, let’s not talk about that. I’m just shocked that it touched me so much. Let us continue”, said the Greek tennis player.
