Although Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko withdrew from the Iga Sventek match against Roland Garros due to health problems, she is very happy with the progress of the dirt season.

“There was a good Roland Garros tournament and overall the whole clay season was unexpectedly good for me. I feel very good: physically strong and healthy in terms of body parts. It’s all very good: I’m tough and fast. I watch the games and I’m showing this and many indicators. I see how much I’ve added. That’s why I get results like this.”

“It’s a completely different feeling when you manage to win 6:1, 6:1 fights in three hours, not three sets. Moreover, there were such opponents in this tournament. Therefore, in general, I am very satisfied with myself, even with the way I am progressing. Maybe many people don’t expect me to progress at this age but I really do. And I add it to the game and it happens very fast. I am satisfied and will continue to work.”

Next plans? I signed up for the Nottingham tournament next week but 90% won’t play. “Then comes the whole English series on the turf: I’ll go to Birmingham, Eastbourne and Wimbledon,” Tsurenko said.
