Alexei Selivanenko, Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF), told RB Sport that Russian Karen Khachanov and Serb Novak Djokovic had a decent match in the Roland Garros quarterfinals.
Khachanov lost to Djokovic on Tuesday with a score of 6:4, 6:7 (0:7), 2:6, 4:6. The Russian, having reached the ¼ finals, repeated the best result in the Grand Slam clay tournament.
What was wrong with Karen? Usually a little bit of everything is missing. Visually, of course, we can say that at certain moments attention sank a little, the serve began to go wrong. All in all it was a great match worthy of a Grand Slam quarter-final.
I don’t think that Karen has a special reason to be dissatisfied with his performance at this tournament, although, of course, you always want more,” Selivanenko said.
Khachanov last year reached the semi-finals of the US Open, in January, the Russian stopped one step away from the final of the Australian Open.
