Tsitsipas for Alkarath: “Let’s shake hands to symbolize the spirit of fair play”
Stefanos Tsitsipas made a post on social media a few hours after being knocked out of the Roland Garros quarter-finals by Carlos Alcarath, where he spoke about fair play and competition.
Stefanos Tsitsipas couldn’t overcome Carlos Alcarath’s obstacle and despite applying pressure in the third set, he was eliminated in the Roland Garros quarter-finals 3-0 (6-2, 6-1, 7-6).
Hours after the defeat, the Greek tennis player took to social media to share his handshake with the Spaniard, citing the value of fair play and healthy competition.
“Our handshake on this sacred ground is meant to symbolize the spirit of fair play and fierce competition. May our paths continue to intertwine in the pursuit of greatness.”
Happy life, happy dreams that flow like calm streams. Thank you Paris” he wrote along with the photo he posted.
